FAQs
Where do you offer counselling?
I offer face-to-face counselling in a therapy room in the centre of Reading, Berkshire, approximately 10 minutes walk from Reading Station and close to the Oracle shopping mall, or online via Zoom if that is your preference
Before your first full-length session I will send directions, if we’re meeting face-to-face, or instructions on how to access a Zoom appointment
Please note that my room is in a listed building and it has three small steps up to the front door, so although my room is located on the ground floor it isn’t fully accessible. I offer online video appointments to anyone who would have difficulty accessing the building
The building has bathroom facilities also on the ground floor, and a small seated reception area just outside my room where you may wait for your appointment to start
When are your appointments?
Face-to-face appointments are Monday-Friday 10am-4pm, subject to availability
Zoom appointments 10am-8pm, subject to availability
Weekend appointments are by arrangement
How much does it cost?
A regular 50 minute session costs £50, payable 48 hours in advance
I offer a free initial 20 minute telephone or video call to talk about whether I’m the right counsellor for you, and whether counselling is what you want
How many sessions will I need?
This is a difficult question to answer because it depends on what you want to work on, and how you feel about counselling over time as we work together
In our first regular session we will talk about this and make a plan as part of our agreement
I will then check in with you about this periodically, or you can bring this question to any of our sessions
What age group do you work with?
I only offer counselling to individuals aged 18+ years
What does GSRD affirming mean?
GSRD affirming means supporting the validity of gender, sexuality and relationship diversity so this would include anyone within the LGBTQIA+ community and anyone whose relationships are anywhere on the spectrum from monogamy to non-monogamy
